The XI Brazilian Symposium on Soil Education (XI SBES) addressed the construction of the concept of soil in the multidisciplinary nature present in diverse areas, such as basic and higher education, agriculture, rural extension, urban soils, indigenous lands, inclusion and gender equality. During the event a number of art-science collaborations took place through performance, poetry and installation.

Originally built in 1910, the Möllerei building was used to store ore and coke. It was significantly altered between 1965 and 1970. It has been out of use since the last blast furnace was shut down in 1997 and has been registered in the supplementary inventory of national monuments since 2000. The northern part of the building is used to house the university library - the Luxembourg Learning Centre.

Zone2Source is an international exhibition platform and organises workshops, exhibitions, lectures and performances about art, nature and technology. Zone2Source is located in the Amstelpark, Amsterdam. The main exhibitions are in the Glazen Huis (the whole year round) while the Rietveld Huis serves as the office and archive of the projects. Park Studio, in the Orangerie, is open from May through September.

FLAM Festival, Amsterdam

We are the heizhaus – a pilot project by the source collective. We have settled in the clinker building directly at the source tower and are 80 people in the house and 120 in the source swarm. We are a house that offers space for artists, culture and creative people. In addition to studios and workshops, the second half of our rooms are used for non-profit formats and events.

The Vondelpark is the most famous city park in the Netherlands. The park is located in the middle of the city. Constructed on a muddy dump area, the Vondelpark has to go through the total renovation each 30 years. This is because the actual ground level of the park constantly lowers itself. If these works would not be done, the whole park would be covered by water. It is visible after heavy rains at the end of the period before the next renovation, when whole parts of the park become vast ponds.

Diptych is a transdisciplinary playground by the visual artist Ola Lanko who expanded her artistic practice into the field of gastronomy exploring unconventional tools questing for meaning. It is an eight-seat Omakase room in Amsterdam. At Diptych the fundamental principle is trust. Omakase stands for 'I leave it up to you'. Guests were asked to give in and for trust and in return a unique experience was created for them in front of their eyes.

Art Group 705 is an artist’s collective founded in Bishkek during the Tulip Revolution of 2005. They have grown since, and the majority of the current members are in their twenties. The group’s name is deliberately meaningless, to reflect their interest in the theatre of the absurd. The collective began as a theatre troupe that performed on the street as well as in abandoned spaces like parks and factories. Their work and numbers have grown, as they participate in festivals and exhibitions and attract young performers.
