Designkwartier Festival, 'Tijd Maken'

Installation presented during the Designkwartier Den Haag in The Hague, between 19/05/2017 and 21/05/17, at the invitation of the Satellietgroep for their exhibition Tijd Maken – Making Time, in De Tempel. The installation was a tasting display constituted of a collection of edible soil samples from various countries, and a selection of edible ceramics. During the three days of the festival, we invited the audience to taste the different soils and write down their comments. It has been an open door for very interesting discussions about geophagy, food and cultural differences.

Dutch Artists collective Satellietgroep (The Hague, 2006) explores the sea, coastal transitions, climate change and the impact of mankind on these processes, in The Netherlands and abroad. The team creates conditions for artists and designers to work on site during artist-in-residency programs, collaborate with the extensive network of locals and scientists, to develop new works and insights to be shared with broader audiences during public programs.
