Akwaba Festival; Tumi community

In October 2019 Museum of Edible Earth had the opportunity to participate in the pIAR Residency which took place in Ghana. During my involvement in pIAR (PerfocraZe International Artist Residency – hosted by “crazinisT artisT studiO”) residency, Museum of Edible Earth was showcasing the cultural significance of edible clay and exploring the diverse cultural practices surrounding it. This experience was a valuable opportunity for me to not only showcase my work but also to discover new types of edible clay and gain insights into the local cultural practices related to it. Overall it was an enriching experience delving into the range of edible clay varieties that contribute to Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and one that I greatly appreciated
