Kessak Blue Angren

Uzbekistan – UZ006E
Composition: Clay
Colour: Green
Shape: Raw

The Kessak Clay originates from Uzbekistan, but is sometimes produced in Ukraine. It is commonly used for cosmetic purposes but also eaten as food supplement. It is often a very salty clay, and is known for being addictive.

This sample was found in a traditional herbal shop in Angren, Uzbekistan. The shop also sells Kessak clay for eating. In a short interview with me he compared the desire to eat clay with drug addiction. He told that there is a high demand for Kessak, but does not eat it himself.

Reviews

  1. This one has a lot of flavour, but it is hard to describe. It tastes like starch. It has the beginning taste, and then it expands

  2. It is salty and sour. It is always difficult to describe the taste. It is like a see salt in supermarket. But I do not believe in the sea salt. It is just salt

  3. Ощущение, что ты идешь мимо строительных работ, открываешь рот и туда залетает строительная пыль. Бетон на вкус, наверное, именно такой
