Soil for oral use in Guatemala, known as ‘pan de dios’, i.e. ‘bread of god’. The earth tablets are stamped with the images, often of cross. The soil comes from the pilgrimage town of Esquipulas, and according to the vendors is blessed. It is used as a medicine, as a food supplement, but as well, according to some sources, for spiritual cleansing (at Esquipulas Guatemala). This sample is refined into powder.

  1. Tastes like clay, somehow familiar because as a child I used to eat clay maybe. Lighter kind of clay. It is lighter color and it feels you can taste it. It is fine grain size. Earthy. Not sweet. Now salty. Not mineraly also. Delicate clay. Not dark see clay

  2. I also think it tastes light. Also, it is like clay mask I taste by accident. Also because you recognise the smell. And I guess taste and smell are connect

  3. it has a slight creamy texture if you leave it long enough in your mouth. Doesn’t have a clear taste but enjoyable
