Radboud Impact Festival, Nijmegen
In 2024 the Radboud University in Nijmegen hosted their annual event: Radboud Impact Festival. By transforming the Erasmusplein and Pieter Bondam Square into a “sustainable playground”, the University aimed to spread awareness about sustainability in a creative environment. The festival featured art installations, lectures, games and much more. The goal was to inspire students and visitors to rethink sustainability and take action towards a more eco-conscious future.

Besides showcasing multiple samples of the Museum of Edible Earth that introduces edible soils to the audience, masharu also showcases their work: Compost as Superfood. The project introduces a new perspective on sustainability, food, and waste. It encourages reflection on the safety, cultural aspects, and environmental consequences of consuming organic materials, inviting participants to rethink our connection with earth in its multitude of apparitions.

By engaging with the project, visitors are invited to consider how the future of consumption and the practice of composting can help restore soil health. It also highlights how composting can turn organic waste into a valuable nutrient source.
