The Ayilo is a naturally occurring mineral consumed by certain populations of West Africa, mainly for gustative pleasure but also by pregnant women as a remedy for morning sickness. This sample was found on a Ayilo production site near Accra. It is smoked and shaped into a finger-shape, the size is large.
The smell is chemical, like paint. As a daughter of a painter, I tried all of the paints when I was small, and I know the smells. Gouache – this is what it is
It has little rocks in it
I like the ice cream with ayilo more than the raw ayilo
